ABOUT
The Ephraim Ochieng’ Otieno, M.D. Science Foundation (EOOSF) is a non-profit organization established to honor the memory of Ephraim Ochieng’ Otieno, M.D., an eminent physician whose healing hands touched the medical community at the University of Louisville Hospital where he served as a physician until his untimely death on December 8, 2025. Ephraim loved sports and the sciences when he was a student at Model Laboratory School and at the University of Louisville where he completed his medical degree in 2024. He tutored local school children in STEM-related fields in the greater Louisville area during his undergraduate and medical school years. Upon graduation, Ephraim joined the UofL Hospital for his residency in Internal Medicine. Ephraim is remembered for his compassion and love for science and the medical profession. He had a long-term goal of establishing a foundation aimed at advancing science and health education in Kenya and the United States of America. Dr. Otieno's love for the sciences and medicine has inspired his family, Dr. Tom Otieno, Dr. Iddah Otieno, Christopher Otieno, and Rebecca Otieno to establish a foundation in his memory and the impact he had on his beloved community.
